HalalCrypto Editorial Team
Methodology-led research on halal cryptocurrency, written for Muslim investors who want testable answers — not vibes, not hype, not marketing.
What we do
The HalalCrypto Editorial Team publishes the explainers, country guides, and standard-by-standard analysis you find under /blog. Every article ties back to our 3-layer screening methodology and the live halal coin screener so readers can move from theory to a verdict on the asset in front of them.
Methodology
Our screen is built around the published standards of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), most directly Shariah Standard 59 on Crypto Assets and Standard 62. We layer that against madhab-specific positions (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, Hanbali, Ja'fari) where they diverge on novel instruments such as staking, lending protocols, and algorithmic stablecoins. Every verdict cites the standard or fatwa it relies on; if a standard is silent, we say so.
Review standards
- Cite or cut. Any factual claim about scholarly position, regulatory ruling, or protocol behavior must link to a primary source. If we cannot find one, the claim does not ship.
- No religious authority claim. We do not issue fatwas. We surface positions, summarize standards, and point readers toward qualified scholars from their own madhab.
- No banned wording."Guaranteed," "safe," "risk-free," and similar phrasing is forbidden in our copy. Crypto markets carry real loss potential.
- Methodology over individual posts. When the screen changes, every affected article is re-reviewed against the new rule and the change is logged.
- Honest about our weaknesses. Articles that critique competitors must include our own gaps in the same piece.
Contributors
HalalCrypto Editorial is a small in-house team plus a rotating set of madhab-specialist advisors who review verdicts before publication. Articles are bylined "HalalCrypto Editorial" rather than individuals so the methodology — not any one author — is what carries the work. Our review advisors are listed by madhab on the methodology page.
Founder
HalalCrypto was founded by a Saudi Arabia-based engineer with a background in distributed systems and Islamic finance compliance. The product side of the business — pricing, partnerships, brand — is the founder's. The editorial side is governed by the rules on this page and is structurally independent so that paid coverage can never override a halal/haram verdict.

Educational, not a fatwa
Nothing on this site — including everything written by this team — is a fatwa or personalized religious counsel. Use our research as an input to your own due diligence and your scholar's ruling.
